6Spring has sprung… and so has summer registration!

We know, we know. Thinking about next semester is a tall order. But whatever your plans for summer—camping, gardening, or taking a family vacation—online University of Wisconsin Master of Science in Data Science courses are flexible enough to fit right in with your summer activities, giving you the freedom to study when and where you want while still having time to relax. (See the list of summer courses here.)

Plus, by taking online Data Science courses this summer, you can:

1. Ensure your eligibility.

If you’re new to the program, talk to an enrollment adviser to make sure you have the required credits and prerequisite courses to enroll in the program. If you still need a required course, we can help you find one this summer so you are ready to begin your program in fall.

2. Save time.

The shorter summer schedule means you can rack up credits in just 12 weeks instead of 16.

3. Get up to speed or stay sharp.

If you’re a new data science student, start with a lighter course load so you can find your study groove in time for fall. As a current student, you can maintain academic momentum with a lighter course load so you can hit the ground running again this fall.

4. Gain focus.

Summer is a great time to take a course if you work slowly or if you know of a difficult course that will benefit from having your complete attention.

5. Reduce stress.

A small course load is easier to handle. And the credits you earn will give you breathing room in case you need to take fewer credits in a future semester.

Plus, summer semester is a chance to take select courses that will not be offered again until 2017.

Summer semester starts May 31

Registration is now open!

Courses run: May 31–August 19
Preview week (a chance for enrolled students to explore the online learning management system) starts: May 24

Please see the UW Data Science Course Schedule page for course offerings and descriptions.

Wondering how to register? If you are an enrolled UW Data Science student, visit the Registration page to register for summer courses. If you are not an enrolled student, you will need to apply to the program before you can register for summer.
